The scientific revolution is the period of time which is characterized by the discoveries and people who changed the world beliefs despite the influence of the religion. This paper reveals the explanation of the term “science revolution” and briefly explains the significance of it for the modern science. The paper shows why we could apply to this period of time such term as “revolution”. It highlights and distinguishes two important figures during the scientific revolution.
Revolution in science is the period of the science development during which old scientific notions were replaced partially or completely by the new scientific discoveries. The new theoretical assumptions, methods, material resources, evaluations and interpretations were completely incompatible with the old ones. Thus, the length of the time from 1543, when the Copernicus’ publications about the rotation of the spheres were promulgated, to the activities of the Isaac Newton, who published his work about the mathematical principles in 1648, could be considered as a period of the scientific revolution. This period is called the scientific revolution, as it changed the perception of the world among medieval people with the help of the science.
The scientific revolution is a period of time that represents the major transformation of the views of the society and the nature in the physics, biology, chemistry, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy. It was the revolution with the method of the knowledge and treatment with the obtained knowledge and was closely connected with the spirit of enlightenment. There was a new form of making the discoveries. During the scientific revolution, the discoveries were made through the personal experience and observation.
The role of the scientific revolution could not be overestimated. It served as a firm and significant basis for the creation and development of the modern science. It was a tool that enabled people to touch the world in a new light. The fear of the religious persecution and old views were replaced by the fresh ideas and knowledge. The interesting moment in the science revolution is that there were some discoveries that did not make any change except the point of view.

They set the existing laws, phenomena, and properties of the material world that were not known previously, which makes fundamental changes in the level of science knowledge. One can call this period of time as revolution, since there were many radical transformations in the science that changed the way people perceive the world. It is also necessary to underline two scientific figures of that time that made the significance contribution to the development of the science revolution. Nicolas Copernicus is the author of the heliocentric system of the world, which launched the scientific revolution. He is an important figure in the scientific revolution, as he came to the conclusion that it is not the Earth but the Sun that should be fixed in the center of the universe. He made the discovery that was controversial to the religious postulates and made the scientists look at the astronomy with the new perspectives. He is a great example of the associates of the scientific revolution era, as all other scientific discoveries were controversial to the old beliefs. The other important figure is Isaac Newton. He was an English physicist, mathematician, and astronomer, and one of the founders of classical physics. He described the law of gravity and the three laws of mechanics, which became the basis of classical mechanics and many other mathematical and physical theories.
The scientific revolution declared the new discoveries and beliefs that were made by different scientists. Nicolas Copernicus and Isaac Newton are the great examples that help to understand the character of the scientific revolution. These two scientists changed the old beliefs and initiated the development of the new ideas in the science. It is the feature that characterizes all discoveries that were made during the scientific revolution.
