Global warming refers to the average temperature rise of the oceans and earth’s atmosphere. The implications of global warming may be economic, physical, social or ecological. The projected climate changes in the future propose additional global warming, apparent rise in the regularity of weather events which are extreme, and rise in the sea level. In the first place, physical impact of global warming to a large extent arises from human activities. Principally, the contribution of human activities to climate change is through fossil fuels burning which have aggravated GHGs concentration in the atmosphere. In addition, emissions of sulfur dioxide are another implication on the climate by human activities. These emissions are the originators of sulfate aerosols formation in the atmosphere. Global warming that is human-induced potentially leads to irreversible or abrupt impacts. Some of these impacts include: effects on weather due to human activities. Based on different observations, changes in weather patterns have been observed and witnessed. This is so because as changes in climate occur, chances of certain weather patterns are affected. Observations in changed intensities, types, amounts and frequencies have been recorded. Heavy precipitations have been observed to occur to large extent even in areas where gross amounts of rainfall have dwindled. On the other hand, food supply is another impact of global warming under the social implications. The impact is largely felt in food production and agriculture all over the globe as a result of elevated carbon dioxide effects in the atmosphere, alterations in precipitation and systems of transpiration rise in temperatures, and modifications in pest, pathogen and weed pressure. Regional effects of climate change have so far been relatively minimal on agriculture. In the next place, ozone depletion is related to global warming in that it is both a solar radiation absorber as well as a greenhouse gas. Secondly, the chemistry controlling the loss of the ozone is very sensitive to humidity and local temperature. Therefore, climate change affects it hence impacting as well to the ozone depletion.
