Nowadays people are surrounded by the Internet, TV shows, video games, movies, and a lot of other things. Reading becomes rarer way to spend free time. Surely, there are a lot of books interpreted into movies or games, and some people take it as a substitution. However, reading is not only the way to spend a couple of hours.
There are numerous ways to develop writing skills. Writing could be easily taken as one of the best man’s inventions. On the other hand, how can anybody write without reading? We start it with our parents, from the alphabet. Then, studying at school teaches us to use textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. There comes a day a person should write his first essay. The greatest amount of essays is written about the books which were read at the lessons. To get an excellent mark is impossible without reading them. Even using Internet links cannot express all the feelings. Reading is also the best way to learn a new foreign language.
“Love Story” written by Erick Segal is a romantic story. The language of the book is rather easy for the book to be the first for foreigner to read. The plot is breathtaking. The words used to describe feeling are the feelings. This funny story of Ollie and Jenny helps the reader to imagine himself on their places. Some writers may argue that the best way to learn how to write is to read “great books”. “Love Story” could be named great. Being written more than 40 years ago, it is still popular to learn. Surely, the definition of “great books” is subjective. On the other hand, insatiable reading is not the way to improve your writing. Even a high school literature teacher could be worse writer than his student who is fastidious in his choice.
