Accounting as a branch of financial practice has existed since time immemorial; it has been applied since the appearance of trade. It goes without saying that it has not lost its topicality in modern post-industrial society. Because of my interest in accounting I decided to enter Cerritos Community College as a transfer student and majored in Business Accounting. I worked hard at my assignments and got positive marks. It resulted in graduation with a GPA of 3.8 and obtainment of an AA degree with Highest Honors.
I would like to proceed with my education and improve my skills and knowledge in this sphere. Particularly, it would be useful to combine accounting and management. I am admitted at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and I am going to be majoring in Business Administration Accounting. I am looking forward for my first semester to start (the due date is March 26, 2012). I hope my studying there will help me become an expert in my branch.
One cannot call me an inexperienced accountant. Even applied management is familiar to me. I have been running my own business in construction together with my husband for some time already. I am the one in charge of the bookkeeping. I also manage payroll and execute all administrative work. Apart from that I am the manager of my own life: I was born in Argentina and moved to the USA searching for more opportunities. I have two small children and take an active part in the social life of the elementary school they attend: I am involved as a volunteer there; my position in PTA is a treasurer.

CalCPA scholarship would help me a lot in my current aspirations and career in general. I would like to spread the family business, conquer new segments of the market and become a successful and promising competitor. Accounting is the branch I feel rather comfortable and secure in. Combination of accounting and management, the one I am pursuing by my education, will introduce even more professional confidence into my business. I am convinced that my children deserve to be brought up in favorable conditions and never lack anything. My husband and I will try our best to guarantee that. Thus, financial aid is more than important for us. I believe that if I get the scholarship, it will be a lot easier for me to advance in life and achieve my goals.
